Kansas Central Model Railroaders Information

Kansas Central Model Railroaders

Located in Hutchinson, Kansas, USA

We are a model train club having traveling layouts in HO, O and N scales. Our home base is Hutchinson, Kansas which is where we hold our monthly meetings. Most of our members are from Hutchinson, Kansas, and Reno County. As our club name suggests, we also have members from surrounding counties.

Our club was formed back in 1983 by a few interested modelers in HO scale. We started out in the back of a hobby shop in Hutchinson and membership was up to 45 individuals. Over the years, the membership has changed as is the case with most organizations. If you would like more information about us, please contact by sending us an email.

We are always looking for more individuals who are interested in modeling miniature trains and enjoy the company of fellow modelers. Membership is open to any person engaged in, or desirous of becoming engaged in the hobby of model railroading, without regard to gender, race, religion, or political affiliation. The minimum age for membership is sixteen years of age.

We have four operating layouts, two in HO scale, one N scale and a vintage Lionel 1958 store layout in O gauge. Damage to our former club house rendered it unusable, so the layouts - and the club itself - are actively looking for a new home.

The club made the decision to change from a social group to a non-profit organization. In January 2017, the club closed out its books and started a Limited Liability Company. The official name for the club is “Kansas Central Model Railroaders, LLC”. Also in January of 2017 the newly formed organization applied for 501(c)3 non-profit status with the Internal Revenue Service which was approved in November of 2017.

Membership Dues: $120/year or $30/quarter
